Do-a-Dot Pumpkin Printable

I have created another Do-a Dot printable, these are otherwise known as Bingo Marker pages.
I thought I would create some Halloween pages.
I created 2 versions of this same page. One is for students to create their own face on the pumpkin, the other has a face already marked in. This one would probably be good for the younger kids.

Do-a-Dot, body theme printables

We are working on a “all about me” theme. So I made some Do-a-dot marker pages to go with it.
With these pages the outline is done in circles, and the kids can fill them in with the dot markers. Then the kids can color the insides, if they so choose.
Frugal Tip:
Did you know many dollar stores carry bingo markers in a variety of colors, that work just like the Do-A-Dot Marker? You need to check them out!

Apple Tree Play-Doh mat

I finally got a chance to get pictures of Alligator playing with our Apple Tree Play-Doh mat. You can find my post about the mat here. (You can download the mat for free!)
Alligator really doesn’t like to get his hands dirty, so he really hasn’t played with play-doh much. I guess it is just one of those sensory things, since it doesn’t actually make your hands messy, but it does have a unique texture.
So I sat right next to him and we worked with the play-doh.

I eventually got him to pinch off some play-doh to make apples on our tree.
 
This is a great fine motor/pincher grasp activity!

Letter A sound gluing page

To go along with our Aa Apple theme. I made a sheet to glue pictures that start with the letter A.

Basically it is just a page to glue pictures that start with the letter. 
The pictures I am going to use are found here, at home school creations.

Apple Play Dough Mat

More printables for my Apple unit.
I really want to get Alligator some exposure to playing with play dough. I think it is great for fine motor skills. So I created a play dough mat.

Here he can make apples and put them on the tree. He can also use the play dough to make an A or a, or to spell the word apple. I am going to put this in a sheep protector, and put it out with red play dough. I think he’ll enjoy it.

Aa Apple sort

Monkey starts school 2 weeks from Monday. Hard to believe! I am in the process of planning activities for Alligator and I.
This is not an original idea. There is a computer game type activity on the starfall site, but I wanted a printable activity. There may be other printables online that are similar but I couldn’t find what I was looking for.

I am going to print it, and possibly laminate it. Then have Alligator sort the Capital “A” and Lowercase “a” into the correct basket.

Make the Word

This post was inspired by Carissa at 1+1+1=1. I love her “I can read program”. I have added another printable to my collection.

We have Letter Tiles by Eureka.

I created this document, to help Monkey make his word. You can also use the tiles that Carissa created and glue them onto this sheet.

Now he can use the tiles to create the word. Necessary tiles for each set in a tin, so that they can easily be found.

Here he is working with his tiles.

Graphing Sight Words

As we are working on our sight words, it occurred to me to make Monkey a sight word graphing sheet.

Here is how you play. I used our Education Cubes membership, and printed out his words. I used 2 words from the week before, plus this weeks words, for a total of 6. I then wrote  the words in the bottom of the graph.
How to play:
Roll the dice.
Read the word that comes up.
Put a dot in the  space on top of the word, on your graph.
First word to 10 wins.
Or, you could play with 2 people and have them take turns rolling, winner is the first one with a whole column filled.

Stamp a word

Monkey has been working really hard on his sight words. I owe a huge thank you to Carissa at 1+1+1=1, for her “You Can Read” program.
As we have been working, I decided to get out our stamps, and try stamping the word. Monkey found this very difficult.
I thought it would be much easier if I changed 2 things.
1. I have ordered some new stamps. We have a set of stamps but they have multiple letters on each stamp (on each side is a different letter). This made the process hard because it was difficult to find the letter, plus once he did find it, it was hard to orient it the correct way. These are not his set, but they are similar.

So I purchased these from Amazon

I also bought an uppercase set as well.
2. The second thing that I changed, was I made a sheet so that he could stamp straight onto a paper. I created a set of the cards for Carissa’s first 6 sets of words. I will create more as needed.
