TotSchool- Halloween themed

Alligator is now 2 years and 9 months old. So hard to believe. He is still in love with anything ABC’s it boggles my mind what he can do!

Here he is working on a Time For Tots Activity. Where you place a button on the letters in the alphabet. He wanted to go in alphabetical order. This activity was a great fine motor activity too, because he had to pick up the small buttons and place them on the right spot. Look how proud he is when he accomplished it. He did both sides lowercase, and capital.

Here he is working on spooning the pompoms out of the pumpkin tray. I had to use m&ms to bribe him to try not to use his hands, (also a time for tots activity)

Our last activity that I have pictures for is when Alligator and I were trying to make a painted pumpkin. I was trying to get him to paint. I offered him a plate with paint on it and a brush. But he wouldn’t touch it. So then I got myself a fork and a spoon and tried to show him how you don’t have to touch the paint. He enjoyed watching, but would not try it himself.

So in the end he ended up coloring his plate with a marker and a crayon. We will keep trying though.

Do-a-Dot Pumpkin Printable

I have created another Do-a Dot printable, these are otherwise known as Bingo Marker pages.
I thought I would create some Halloween pages.
I created 2 versions of this same page. One is for students to create their own face on the pumpkin, the other has a face already marked in. This one would probably be good for the younger kids.

Catch up Halloween

Yeah, yeah, I know. LATE…but even if ya’ll aren’t interested I thought I would share so that I have the post for next year.

Here is what we did for Halloween. And I promise, I will post more regularly after Thanksgiving.

Here is my little lion at his thanksgiving party. We go to a toddler class once a week. (he wouldn’t stay still to look at the camera.

 

Here is monkey and his good friend. She spent the afternoon with us one day, and so we had to make a craft. As she says “I wuv coming here and doin awt”. I love doing art with you too! This craft was inspired by a similiar craft on the “Amazing Mess”, I tried it with Alligator but he had no interest, which is odd because he is my art guy.

We went to play with play-dough and my home-made play-dough was gross and old. So we mixed up a new batch. They each got to make their own. I did a non-cooked recipe, I had to add tons more flour than it called for, but it worked out. Both kids didn’t want to get their hands messy, so I put it in a baggy for them to mix up themselves.

Daddy was an alien, but no one got it. LOL

Ghostly Craft

I love the internet. I have found so many cool blogs that talk about super cool crafts.

We made a string ghost that is very similiar to the string pumpkins found here.

We mixed up some water and glue.

Then we put the string in.

Then we laid out the string onto plastic (we didn’t have any waxed paper so we used a ziploc bag.

We added eyes, and let them dry.

Once they hardened (about 2 days later) I hung them from our kitchen light

    

They are sooooo COOOOL!

Tub of Goooo.....

I got this idea from The Mailbox. I put shaving cream and shredded cotton balls in a tub. And mixed it up. Then I added some plastic orange and black spiders. I buried the spiders and let Monkey search for them. I thought he would be willing to touch it so I gave him some tongs. I thought he could sort the bugs by color. But, we just had so much fun with the goop that we didn't really sort.

After a while, he really got into it. He got some on his hand and wiped it on the table and then started having a ball.

I went and grabbed some cars so he could drive cars throug the "snow" and leave tracks.

He was great about helping me clean up too. I let him man the sprayer at the sink and he rinsed all the bugs and cars.

We will definatly do this again!
