Rocket Ship Craft

This post was shared at abc button
For a few years now I have been reading posts over at No Time for Flash Cards. It is a wonderful website and if you haven’t checked it out, you need to. The thing I love about her crafts is that it is very kid made, but still ends up looking like something in the end.
We are doing some of the activities from Totally Tots “Now I know my ABC’s”. So this week we are working on an astronaut theme.
To go along with this I decided to make a rocket craft with my boys.
1. I drew a  rocket on their paper and let them color it.

2. Then Monkey decided it could use some colored tape (hey, anything that will keep him engaged!!!!)

3. We tore up some red, yellow and red paper to simulate fire coming out of the rocket. While Monkey and Alligator did this I cut out Alligator’s rocket, Monkey cut out his own!
4. We glued the paper to the back of the rocket (Alligator had his own ideas of where the paper should go, and Monkey decided tape would be much better than glue)
Ta-Da…Finished…. Monkey wasn’t willing to show his off!
